XDegen Glossary

A collection of must-know memecoin trading terms for true degens. Learn the lingo, stay ahead of the game, and don’t get rekt.

💥 Degenerate (Degen) (n.)

Definition: A trader who apes into high-risk, high-reward plays—usually in the memecoin, NFT, or leverage trading scene. 🔥 Example: “Only true degens buy a token just because the logo looks cool.”

📈 Ape (v.)

Definition: Going all-in on a trade without much research, purely based on hype. 🦍 Example: “Bro, I just aped into $WOJAK at launch—this thing is gonna 100x.”

🌕 To the Moon (phrase)

Definition: A belief that a token's price is about to skyrocket. Often accompanied by rocket emojis. 🚀🚀🚀 🔥 Example: “$BONK just announced a huge partnership. We’re going TO THE MOON!”

🧻 Paper Hands (adj.)

Definition: Selling too early due to fear, missing out on potential gains. 😨 Example: “You sold at 2x? Bro, that’s some serious paper hands energy.”

💎 Diamond Hands (adj.)

Definition: Holding a token no matter what, even through massive dips. 🛑 Example: “We don’t sell at -80%, we buy more. Diamond hands, baby!”

🚨 Rug Pull (n.)

Definition: When a project’s team suddenly sells all their tokens and vanishes, leaving investors wrecked. 💀 Example: “Bruh… $DOGEKING just deleted their Twitter. That was a straight-up rug pull.”

🐋 Whale (n.)

Definition: A trader with a massive amount of tokens who can move the market with a single trade. 🐳 Example: “A whale just dropped 500 ETH into $PEPE—brace for impact.”

🚀 WAGMI (We’re All Gonna Make It) (phrase)

Definition: A motivational chant in the crypto community, signaling optimism and unity. 🙌 Example: “Market’s pumping, bags are up—WAGMI, boys!”

☠️ REKT (adj.)

Definition: Losing a significant amount of money in a bad trade. 💸 Example: “Bought the top, then the devs rugged… I’m REKT.”

⚡ Sniping (v.)

Definition: Buying a memecoin the second it launches, often using bots to get in before the crowd. 🎯 Example: “This guy sniped $SHIBA at launch and turned $100 into $2M. Insane.”

🔥 FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) (n.)

Definition: Panic-buying because you think a token is about to pump without you. 😱 Example: “I wasn’t gonna buy $BOB, but then it pumped 200% and FOMO hit me hard.”

📉 Bagholder (n.)

Definition: Someone stuck holding a token that’s lost most of its value. 🎒 Example: “Still holding $DOGE from 2021? Damn, you’re a real bagholder.”

💰 Exit Liquidity (n.)

Definition: The unlucky buyers who buy at the top, allowing whales to cash out. 😂 Example: “Bought $PEPE at ATH? Congrats, you just became exit liquidity.”

📊 Pump & Dump (n.)

Definition: When a token is hyped up to artificially increase its price, only for early buyers to dump it on new investors. 🎢 Example: “$MOONCAT pumped 500% in an hour, then dumped to zero. Classic pump & dump.”

💀 Dead Cat Bounce (n.)

Definition: A temporary recovery in price before a token dumps even harder. 📉 Example: “$DOGEK pumped 30% after crashing 90%—classic dead cat bounce.”

🐕 Dog Season (n.)

Definition: A market cycle where every dog-themed token (Doge, Shiba, Bonk) starts pumping. 🐶 Example: “Bonk is up 500%. Looks like dog season is back.”

🚀 Alpha (n.)

Definition: Insider or early knowledge about an upcoming pump, project, or trade opportunity. 🔎 Example: “My guy in the dev chat dropped some alpha—$DEGEN is about to list on a CEX.”

🤡 Clown Market (n.)

Definition: A market cycle where fundamentals mean nothing, and pure memes dictate price action. 🎭 Example: “Some guy just made $1M off a token called $HONK. It’s a clown market.”

🦧 Monkey See, Monkey Do (phrase)

Definition: When traders FOMO into a token just because everyone else is buying it. 🙈 Example: “No roadmap, no use case, but everyone’s buying it? Monkey see, monkey do.”

⚠️ Honeypot (n.)

Definition: A scam token that only lets you buy but not sell, trapping funds inside. 🐻 Example: “$MOONRAT looked promising, but turns out it’s a honeypot.”

🎭 Normie (n.)

Definition: Someone who doesn’t get memecoins, DeFi, or trading culture. 🧐 Example: “Tried explaining $WOJAK to my coworker. Total normie.”

👻 Ghosted (v.)

Definition: When a project’s devs disappear without delivering on promises. 👥 Example: “$ELONINU promised staking two months ago, then the devs ghosted.”
